风门主要应用于发电厂风道、烟道中做截流或调节介质流量用，驱动型式分为手动，手动涡轮箱型，气动型，电动型。也可用于其它行业中的风道、烟道。圆风门可使系统某一管路介质全部流通/截断或介质流量随控制而变化。对于直径较小的圆风门，它具有截流及调节介质流量两个功能，对于直径很大的圆风门，其调节功能不太明显，主要应用它的截流功能。
风门按公称通径区分，编制规格定DN100-2200等到23种。
风门外壳的突出部分供装设涡轮箱用，并设有挡板全开时的挡钉。
