Description
Ethyl 3-ethoxypropionate (EEP) is a low-volatility ether-ester solvent with excellent solubility for many resins used in coatings. The structure contains ether-ester active groups and a propionyl group in the middle of the molecule, providing a unique set of combined properties not found in other solvents.
It is characterized by a slow evaporation rate and excellent bake resistance. Due to its slow volatility, it effectively reduces solvent viscosity, which significantly improves the flow and leveling properties of various coating systems.
EEP has a mild odor, low surface tension, and high impedance values. These characteristics make it highly effective for use in the production of paints, inks, adhesives, thinners, and advanced composite materials.
